The SpeedQueen Washer gets my clothes cleaner in less time than the newer energy efficient machines. SpeedQueen works like the older washing machines with the agitator but actually less time, thus saving electricity. And…,the SpeedQueen does not make your clothes smell bad, (other machines build up mold in the machine and requires occasional cleaning), or your clothes will not smell clean. Also, the SpeedQueen has a 5 year warranty whereas most others have a 1 year warranty (unless you pay extra). You do pay more for a SpeedQueen, but it is worth it.

Does a great job at drying the clothes and I really like the lint trap as it is sealed so less lint can get by and into the vent. It seems like it catches more lint than our old dryer. My only 2 minor complaints is there seems to be a hidden spot under the lint trap that socks like to hide out in but once you know it's there it's not a big deal. I wish the knob to select your dyer setting had a little more feel/feedback as it's not very precise on what you are selecting but it does get the job done.

Even after an hour of drying on top temperature, my clothes were still frequently damp in my old dryer. There was lint on them, despite my meticulously cleaning the lint screen before each load. And it was making an ominous scraping sound lately. I did my research and decided to buy a Speed Queen. I figured it would be once and done for my laundry needs. I absolutely love that it has a light that comes on when I open the door. No more socks left behind in the dryer. I can adjust how loud the "I'm DONE" alarm is or turn it off altogether. I took advantage of the dryer door's ability to switch which side the hinges are on, and it's much more accessible now. This dryer really delivers! So glad I bought it.

My Speed Queen washer and dryer have been working great! They are both quiet, get the clothes really clean, and the features on the dryer aid in fewer wrinkles. We love the clean, uncluttered, basic look of the products. We were not interested in having our controls look like the cockpit of a jet plane! We are confident that this pair will give us years of productive service!!

I like this basic dryer. Unfortunately, I had to replace another one of the same model that was damaging my clothes (permanently damaging some laundry items (sheets and t-shirts), either burning or grease from somewhere inside). So far so good on this dryer. It took several service calls before the retailer agreed to replace the defective unit. Unfortunately, Speed Queen did not step up too reimburse for permanently damaged items which is disappointing. Still, I would recommend this unit as I am hopeful it was a one off issue with the prior unit.

Absolutely the most efficient dryer I've ever owned! Dries clothes perfectly in half the time that other dryers take. So easy to use, simple knob controls, no electronic push buttons, just an old fashioned reliable machine, and even better it's made in the USA!! When my current washing machine dies, I will be buying the Speed Queen washer that matches my new dryer!! Can't thank you enough for such a fine machine!!

Purchased gas model and am happy I did. Extended tumble keeps clothes wrinkle free, sanitize option is nice if needed, and lint tray is easy to clean. No fancy extras to break or confuse me, simple to use, and movable parts seem sturdy and well built. Better buy quick before regulations make us use a clothesline! Had to request an instruction manual from manufacturer.

I haave been wanting a Speed Queen for a few years now after several friends & family members have raved about their new Speed Queens. My old one finally gave up so I jumped at the chance! I love the shorter was cycles, the top loading, easy to choose wash cycles and water temp. My laundry is clean in much less time thanks to my new Speed Queen. It has all the functionality that is needed to wash clothes without all those digital computerized electronics that usually cause problems. And a 5 YEAR warranty is a BIG plus!

!) The Dryer door is not flush. The bottom of the door is not closing completely.
2) When I first start a cycle, there is a clanging noise. It will stop after 90 seconds. Like the parts a finely in the correct position. But the next time I start a cycle, the same thing happens.
3) I put 5 cotton items in a Delicate cycle - but when the cycle finished, the items were still WET. The cycle did not dry one pair of cloves and 3 cotton shirts.
4) Do I go back to the store in which it was purchased, or do I notify you of the problems?

We replaced a washer a couple years back. When it came to replacing our dryer, there was no question that we would get the companion speed queen. We are a family of 6 (4 growing kids), live on a farm, and have constant laundry. Both our washer and dryer handle everything we throw at them. We made the right decision.

The dryer dries clothes quickly, and appears to be built well, but unfortunately, we must have got a lemon. A loud squeaking noise started only a couple weeks after purchase. We had techs come and service it under warranty, they replaced the parts they thought were the cause, though they could not determine why it was making noise. A week later the noise is back... Pretty frustrating.

I was absolutely blessed to enjoy an average priced Maytag set for 38 years. The dryer never had a service call but the washer eventually became too expensive to keep repaired. I researched for a month before choosing Speed Queen but, to be honest, I wish I'd never seen them, particularly the dryer.
I do not believe the "timer" makes sense. I have totally destroyed multiple items, melted 8 baby blankets, melted nylon and polyester in various items, and feel like I absolutely have to stand and monitor the heat every few minutes. I've been sewing for over 50 years, know a LOT about fabrics, and I am not exaggerating when I say my dryer scares me! I can set it for 15 minutes and melt just about anything. I am hanging clothes outside to dry...something I have never felt I had to do!
The washer, even on the most delicate cycle, can easily tear fabrics.
I wish I could say I like this set because of what I paid for it, thinking it must be great, and now I am so disappointed and frustrated, I do not know what to do! My husband wants to try to sell it but I'm not going to do that.

The washer is much quicker than are old washer. I feel like the clothes come out more wet. I miss the Heavy Duty Cycle we had on are old washer.
The Dryer does not dry well on the Perma Press Cycle. You have to dry on the Regular Cycle. When you put towels in the dryer, you have to turn the Regular Cycle on twice. I miss the Heavy Duty Cycle on the Dryer. I will say the Dryer Drum is big.

This dryer replaced our Maytag gas dryer that was over 30 years old but still working. Went with the electric dryer because it had a left side vent that the gas Speed Queen does not have. So far this dryer is working quite well, dries quickly, and is very quiet.

Ran 3 loads of clothes requiring two drying cycles for each. On the 4th. load the dryer would not work leaving me a lot of wet clothes over a long holiday weekend. The following week a service man came to check the dryer. After a thorough check and then a final check a loud pop sounded from the dryer resulting in black smoke infiltrating the back of my house. The dryer was removed from my home and another of the exact type installed. Even the replaced dryer does not dry clothes without running 2 cycles.

This is the second Speed Queen dryer we purchased. I'm not sure, but I think we had the last one for 13 years. We typically do four/five loads of laundry a day, which I would classify as a lot. We are very happy with its durability and ease of use.

We bought the compatible model of the washer 5 years ago which we use every day. Although it is sold as a home user product, it is built like a commercial product. We have burned through two other sets of washers in driers from other "premier brands" over the past 10 years. There is no comparison! When we got this machine I was impressed. Now 7 months later we have had to replace the motor. It is loud now and we were told other parts will have to be replaced later. I thought this was a great machine but now have lots of concerns. Very disappointed in this product

I certainly wish I would have just had my old Speed Queen washer and dryer repaired, they were a lot quieter and more user-friendly. The fryer has a loud rubbing sound when starting and running - after a while, the rubbing quiets down but the loudness of the dryer is annoying. Response from the repairman "It's a commercial dryer it's going to be loud, as for the rubbing this dryer has the best warranty you can get. just wait and see if anything happens." Not impressive at all! It also take a long time to dry a half load of clothing.
